We are walking together

side by side.

to take back everything We have been denied.

changing the world. you can't keep seeing Us as stupid girls.

We're stronger than We look and not

backing down. on every street and sidewalk you can hear the sound

of voices so loud they ring

in your ears. long gone are the days of holding back tears.

We want you to walk with Us,

the whole world is watching Us.

We are Women. We are rising. We are here.

This is an extremely important piece to me. I wrote this poem a week after attending the very first Women's March back in 2017. That experience was the first time I truly saw how a few voices can impact the world. The march started off as just an idea in the minds of a few strong women. Then it expanded and changed into what is now the largest single-day protest in our nation's history. I saw how change is within our grasp and every voice matters.
