Giving Up

Sometimes freedom feels like giving up.

As if there is another way,

but the fight is so exhausting

that you cannot see a brighter day.

Fear takes over all your thoughts.

It doesn't seem worth the pain.

Back and forth, on and off,

another friendship down the drain.

Instead, you take it for what it is,

knowing you'll always think

of the memories kept in photographs,

where all that bleeds is ink.
